How does the Purus system work?

Water enters the system, commonly through a connection to municipal water under a sink.  It is then sent to the Purus system’s three-stage filter to stop sediments, chlorine, and many microorganisms.  After this, the water is sent to a heating tank or chilling system.  The Purus system also provides room temperature water which is great for drinking and convenient for times when you want filtered water for household chores, such as cooking or washing produce.  There is a ThermaRinse function for flushing the cold system with hot water to keep everything tasting fresh and clean.  The entire system has performance monitoring software running 24/7 to make sure all systems are working as expected.

Why does the Purus Innovations system require a drain?

The Purus unit incorporates SmartChill TEM technology which cools without the use of a compressor and refrigerant gases.  To make this cooling technology more efficient, Purus uses a patented water circulating configuration to help cool the TEM system, similar to a radiator on an automobile.  The water is circulated around the cooling system, which helps reduce electricity usage.  This recirculated water is then sent down the drain.

How difficult is the Purus Innovations to install?

The Purus Innovations unit is easy to install by following the video guide or step-by-step written installation guide.  In most cases, the connection to an under-sink water supply and drain should take no more than 10 minutes and should not require the assistance of a technician.  Check out the installation guide on our website here or download the pdf version here.

Does the unit come with an install kit?

YES!  The Purus Innovations unit includes all the parts needed to install the system in most cases.  This includes a valve to connect to most under-sink water supply lines, a drain saddle assembly to attach to a sink drain line and enough water line tubing to connect the supply and drain lines to the unit.  We even include a tubing cutter to help you get the straightest and most efficient cut on the water lines.  You just need to prepare a few tools. When will my package arrive?

Shipping times will vary based on holidays and handler package volume. Our orders process within 1-3 business days, and you will receive tracking information once your order has been processed.

How do I install my filter?

Warranty Information

For our customers, who purchase our water filtration system from the website (purusinnovations.co) we offer a free 30-Day Warranty.

There is no need to register. If you ever need to file a warranty claim, all you need is your order number, so please keep your order confirmation email saved.

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by carelessness, accidents, or abuse/unintended use of the system. This warranty does not cover filters or scratch and dents in units.

How do I return or exchange my Purus Innovations system?

If you're within our 1-year warranty period, please contact us with your order number to start a return or exchange.

How does the Purus Innovation system save me money?

Water quality is always a concern.  Water from wells and municipal systems is normally good quality, but the pipes getting it to your home could allow contaminants into the water supply.  Many people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to buy bottled water so they can have “clean” water.  However, studies have shown bottled water can contain excessive amounts of micro plastics.  Purus filters the incoming water, providing a virtually endless supply of clean water available any time, eliminating the need to buy bottled water.  Just fill your own glass or stainless water container and put your mind at ease knowing that your drinking water is fresh and clean.

What sets Purus Innovations apart from other similar units?

There are many features which set Purus apart from similar units, beginning with small footprint or space required on a countertop.  Purus takes up less space than many common countertop appliances.  Purus also has a unique SmartChill system that chills the water to a refreshing 40F without the use of refrigerants, which is better for the environment.  Purus comes complete with a 3-stage filter installed inside the unit and once hooked up using the included install kit, the cooling system uses less electricity than its counterparts.  The dispensing area fits most tall, reusable bottles so you can help reduce the amount of plastic going to the landfill.

Why doesn’t Purus Innovations use a compressor?

Purus squeezes all the functions of larger water coolers into a tiny package and, because there is no compressor, it allows more features like filters, leak protection and the ThermaRinse cleaning function to be included inside.  The SmartChill technology and unique design of the cooling system keep the quantity and temperature of the water ready for when you need it.

How much water can I dispense from the Purus Innovations system?

Your Purus Innovations unit will dispense up to 80 oz of filtered, cold water (<50F) and up to 60 oz of filtered piping hot water (>170F) water each hour.  Fresh filtered room temperature water is unlimited and available any time on demand.

How much counter space does the Purus Innovations system use?

At 16.5” deep by 6.3” wide, the Purus only requires 104 square inches of counter space.  This is comparable to a coffee maker or four-slice toaster. 

What kind of filtration does the Purus Innovations system use?

The Purus uses an all-in-one composite filter consisting of a sediment filter for removing sediment, activated carbon block for removing chemicals like chlorine, and an Ultra Filter for stopping bacteria and microorganisms from reaching your drinking water container.

How long will the filter last?

The filter is rated for 6 months or 1,500 gallons, depending on incoming water supply quality.  Filter changes are made easy with three filter functions all in one filter housing. 

How can I change the filter?

The change can be made quickly by following these simple steps:

1. Shut off the water supply
2. Press dispense button to relieve line pressure
3. Open the filter door on the front of the unit
4. Swing the filter out towards you, twist 1/4 turn to the left and remove
5. Insert new filter, twist 1/4 turn to the right and swing filter back into place
6. Turn on the water supply and check to make sure there is no leaking around filter
7. Re-install filter door.

How long does the water take to heat up/cool down?

The Purus unit continuously checks the water temperature to ensure that an adequate amount of water is always available for each of the desired temperature options.  If all the water in either the cold or hot tanks has been fully dispensed, Purus will have more piping hot water ready in 15 minutes and crisp cold water in 30 minutes.
